Joy Collins - Founder, President and CEO

Joy CollinsJoy is President of Quantum Hugs, which she founded in the memory of her husband John Collins. Joy has been a nurse for over forty years and has been in management for most of that time. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from St. Joseph's College in Maine. In addition to Quantum Hugs, she has started and successfully run two other businesses – Collins Medical Legal Consultants, a legal nurse consulting firm, and Chalet Publishers, a small independent publishing company she began with her friend Joyce Norman. Joy spends her free time caring for her small fur-family.

Claudia Flowers - Treasurer and Director

Claudia FlowersClaudia Flowers is a consummate senior-level financial and operational executive having held positions at information companies including The McGraw-Hill Companies, Wolters Kluwer and Questex Media Group. Ms. Flowers is no stranger to the not-for-profit world as she currently heads up revenue initiatives for American Business Media, an 100 year+ association focused on the business information and media industry. Ms. Flowers wishes to give back to the community by contributing her expertise and experiences to build Quantum Hugs.

Louise Sims - Secretary and Director

Louise SimsLouise Sims has worked in service capacities all her life. She has worked for a communications company, was the Assistant Manager for Curves, and most recently is involved in retail sales. In addition, she has volunteered for hospice. Louise is also a certified Shiatsu and breath facilitator. She has been lovingly engaged in that work for twenty-six years. Louise and her husband Jim are also the proud parents of three wonderful rescued cocker spaniels. These dogs came to them through their volunteer work with Castoff Cockers, a local rescue group that specializes in small dogs. Louise says her purpose is to be with people and make a difference in their lives by helping them achieve balance in mind and Spirit. "We are all in this world together."

Cynthia Flowers - Director

Cynthia FlowersCynthia has been an advertising and communications professional with over 20 years experience helping to position brands and non-profit organizations to maximize their market potential. She is a regular volunteer with the Taproot Foundation, an organization that recruits professionals to work on a range of marketing and communication initiatives for their non-profit clients who specialize in education, health and human services, children and family services, etc. When she is not working or volunteering, Cynthia enjoys spending time with her husband, Alan and her two Labradors, Charlie and Abby, hiking the great outdoors across the U.S.

Jess Kravitz - Director

Jess KravitzJess D. Kravitz, CFP ® has been helping clients pursue financial security for more than 30 years. Prior to Securus Financial Group, Jess worked for a Fortune 500 Corporation in various positions of ever increasing responsibilities overseeing the implementation of many large retirement plans. Jess brings a wealth of knowledge and experience and an unwavering commitment to innovative solutions. In addition to his work, Jess is very active in charitable giving, volunteering his time and energy to raise money for worthy causes.

Mauri Lawler - Director

Mauri LawlerMauri has been a nurse for 21 years and has held leadership positions in several Philadelphia area hospitals. She has a Master's degree in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania and is enrolled in a Master's in Business Administration program from the University of Scranton. She holds a Bachelor's in Psychology/Sociology from Wilkes University.

Mauri is currently the Managing Director of Clinical Systems and Consulting Services for Siemens Healthcare. In her current role, she oversees over 150 employees that provide healthcare services such as the implementation of electronic healthcare records and medication administration software to customers across the US. In addition, she has expertise in the areas of coaching and mentoring, career development, conflict resolution, planning and budgeting. Mauri is also the co-owner of a family owned gift shop located in Tunkhannock, PA.

Bonita Mandeville, DC - Director

Bonita MandevilleBonita Mandeville, DC graduated from Bayside High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1970. She then attended Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA obtaining a BS in Biology in 1975. She received her Doctorate of Chiropractic from Palmer College in Davenport, IA in 1980. Dr. Mandeville has practiced in Florida, Washington, and Arizona. She now makes her home in Fountain Hills with her husband Bill and two Shibas - Mandi and Yuki.

Frances A. Musto, Psy.D - Director

Frances MustoFran has been a psychiatric nurse for over thirty years, with experience in clinical care, education, and administration. Her most recent experience has been as a neuropsychologist, working with individuals with traumatic brain injuries; she also supervises neurobehavioral specialists working with assisting persons with brain injuries in transitioning back into the community. She received a Master's Degree in Nursing from Villanova University, and her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Joyce A. Norman - Director

Joyce NormanJoyce A. Norman, author and publisher, has worked in communications for over thirty years and has traveled throughout Europe and South America reporting and writing documentaries. She is on the Board of Directors of Villa Hope, an international adoption agency and is a passionate advocate for children who have no parents. Joyce attended Texas Wesleyan University, earning a B.A. English, and earned a Masters in English at the University of Alabama.

Jim Sims - Director

James SimsNow twice retired, Jim Sims has over thirty years' experience as a career development counselor and Human Resources administrator. After retiring from Bell Labs/AT&T in 1987, he went back to school and became a clinical counselor, working in hospitals, addiction recovery centers and the Department of Corrections. A veteran of the Army, he received his undergraduate degree in Management and Production Control and went on to get his Masters in Business as well as training in Clinical Psychology. Since 2002 Jim has been a volunteer with Hospice of the Valley and Castoff Cockers. Jim's goal is to continue to make a difference in this world in any way he can for both people and animals.
